Approximately 150 volunteers from local Wells Fargo branches got their hands dirty as part of the company’s annual Day of Service to build and decorate planters, fill them with dirt and plant a shrub, annual, perennial or vegetable as part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County initiative, “Seeds of Change, Planting for Our Tomorrows.” The volunteers worked alongside Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Bigs, Littles and their parents to create the planters, which are being delivered to local schools.

Cedeño, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. “Participation in our ‘Seeds of Change’ event is yet another example of their dedication.”
Wells Fargo Bank recently granted $50,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County to support the implementation of the bank’s Hands on Banking® initiative in schools across Broward County. The program, taught by local Wells Fargo volunteers, teaches students about money, savings and budgeting using age-appropriate, noncommercial, interactive and entertaining tools. Wells Fargo supports thousands of national and community-based nonprofits, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, each year to help revitalize and strengthen communities. The company focuses on creating long-term, strategic relationships with nonprofits and other organizations to create innovative, sustainable solutions to meet local needs. The company’s team members help make an even bigger impact through their passion, time, and expertise.
